Like many quilters my sewing experience began in garment construction and expanded into crafts and quilts. I enjoy working puzzles so I am drawn to the more challenging quilt patterns but I also like to use simple patterns to showcase a great fabric. My nickname among my quilting friends is Ms. Frugal. They say I can get two quilts (or at least a quilt and a wallhanging) out of most pre-cut kits. I suppose I learned that watching my grandmothers create quilts by sewing strips of fabric onto paper diamonds to form stars and making double wedding rings from tiny scraps. Nothing was wasted! My goal is to pass these lessons and my love of quilting down to my daughter and granddaughter.
